Did you know you can earn extra points and miles through dining (and drinking) at restaurants by linking your credit cards to dining portals? Dining portals have a list of restaurants by city that they partner with and if you dine at those restaurants you earn can earn airline, hotel or Bilt Rewards points and miles. Many of these programs have sign up bonuses for new members so make sure to pay attention to those and sign up when you know you can meet the terms for the sign up bonus. It might be something as simple as spend $30 within 30 days and get an extra 2000 airline miles. Bilt Rewards which is a loyalty platform with a dining component and they also have a credit card that allows you to earn points on rent payments. You can be a free Bilt member without having their credit card or paying rent with them. You also get 100 Bilt points for every Visa, Mastercard or American Express Card you link to your Bilt Wallet. You can earn up to 3 points per dollar through Bilt dining with a card that has good earnings on dining then you could earn 6-7 points per dollar. You can earn up to 10 points per dollar if you have the Bilt credit card which is a great card to have if you pay expensive rent because you can earn up to 100,000 points per calendar year by paying your rent (for free) with the Bilt Rewards credit card. Many of the dining programs are run by the same company so if you are already signed up for one and then you sign up for another one it might cancel your enrollment with the first one. You can always enroll in that first one again in the future so it’s really not a big deal. Even if you don’t have appealing dining options in your city for dining, you might be able to take advantage of them when you travel to larger cities. It’s very possible to take advantage of the sign up bonus on many of them, then after you have done that you can pick your favorite. Rakuten also has some in person dining offers and they will depend on your location. Make sure you activate the offer before you pay and that you have the credit card you will be paying with linked in your Rakuten profile. Of course you want to use a card that has a high multiplier on dining like the American Express Gold Card or the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve.
